Requirements for membership
Membership in SAIL is open to any homeschooling family in Collin County and surrounding
areas that supports the purpose and mission statements found in Article I, Sections
2 and 3 of our By-laws.
Application Process
To apply for membership, please read the Code of Conduct. Then print and complete
the Membership Application, Release of Liability and Media Wavier:

Dues Schedule:
$25 if you join SAIL from July through March
$10 if you join from April through June
Bring your completed Application,
Release of Liability, Media Waiver* and initial dues based on the schedule above
(cash or check made payable to "SAIL") to a Monthly Gathering park day between 10
and 11 am. The next Monthly Gatherings will be on and at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park at 7001 Eldorado in McKinney.
The park has a covered picnic area for the moms and covered play structure for the
kids. There is a large concrete area that is great for riding bikes or scooters.
Bathrooms are available during all seasons except winter.
When you turn in your paperwork,
you will be given a short orientation and a packet with information about the group.
After your orientation, you are welcome to stay as long as you like to get to know
the other moms and kids.
To ensure that our Membership
Team Leader has enough New Member Packets for all the new families joining, please
send a brief email to Membership@SAILhomeschoolers.org
letting her know you are planning to attend Monthly Gathering. If you include a
phone number in your email, she will contact you if there are any changes to the
time, date or location of the meeting.
In case of inclement weather,
we may meet at the McDonald's at 3200 Eldorado in McKinney. If you are concerned
about the weather, please call 972-540-6610 the day before Monthly Gathering to
find out if we are meeting at the regular location or the backup location.
*Please note: The Media Waiver
must be signed by all family members 18 years of age and older.
Membership
The last step of your application process is joining the SAIL members-only website.
There you will have access to our calendar, forums and other information about SAIL.
Your membership is not complete until you request admission to and are approved
to join the site. Information on how to join the site will be given to you as part
of your orientation.
Continuing Membership
Every August, all members except those who joined in July will receive a copy of
their membership information in the mail. Members will make corrections or additions,
if any, and return it in person at a SAIL event with their annual dues of $25.
